The MTV Europe Music Awards 2010 were presented on November 7, 2010 in Madrid in the Caja Mágica . The show was hosted by Desperate Housewives actress Eva Longoria . Katy Perry and Linkin Park performed at the event . The official nominations were announced on September 21, 2010. The most frequently nominated were Lady Gaga and Katy Perry (five times each) and Eminem (four times). Rihanna was nominated three times for her own work and twice for working with Eminem on Love the Way You Lie .

In the end, Lady Gaga was the most successful artist of the evening with three categories won. Justin Bieber has received two awards.
