Delphic is a British band from Manchester . It is assigned to the alternative dance genre.

history

Richard Boardman and Matt Cocksedge had been in the indie band Snowfight in the City Center before breaking up with the band in search of new musical ways. They teamed up with singer James Cook and drummer Dan Theman to form Delphic. Their success began in early 2009 when they signed to Polydor and attracted attention with their debut single Counterpoint . After appearances at the festival and a second single, they had come so far into the focus of the music press that the big breakthrough was predicted for them in the following year and they were ranked 3rd in Sound of 2010 , the BBC's renowned annual newcomer forecast .

Delphic's producer, techno DJ Ewan Pearson , has settled in Berlin, which is why the debut album Acolyte was recorded there. At the beginning of 2010 it immediately made it into the Top 10 of the UK album charts.
