The 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards were presented on November 6, 2008 in Liverpool , UK at the Echo Arena . The official nominations were announced on September 8, 2008. The show was moderated by Katy Perry . Perez Hilton moderated the online edition of the awards and reported live from the red carpet. There were live performances by P! Nk , Beyoncé , Kid Rock , Take That , The Killers , The Ting Tings , Kanye West and Duffy . The presenters included Sugababes , Tiziano Ferro , Tokio Hotel , Travis McCoy , Solange Knowles and Grace Jones on stage.
