Zaho (born May 10, 1980 in a suburb of Algiers , Algeria ; actually Zehira Darabid or Zahera Bar Abid ) is a Canadian contemporary R&B singer with Algerian roots and sings mainly in French.
She lived in Algeria until she was 18 before emigrating with her family to Montreal , Canada in 1999 . Her father is a senior executive and her mother is a math professor . She also has a sister and a brother who also works as a singer. Zaho has been playing guitar and singing since she was seven , but it wasn't until Canada that she began her professional singing career. She broke off her studies in order to devote herself entirely to her music.
