Sniper (hip hop group)
Sniper is a French hip-hop - group from Paris . They met in 1997 in Francofolies de La Rochelle . It consists of the rappers Tunisiano, Aketo and Black Renega. The group's DJ is DJ Boudj.
Career
The group is very well known in France, but controversial because of their sometimes aggressive lyrics. In 2004, the then French Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy brought charges against the group. Sniper had sung in the song “La France” that they were “hot” to “ wipe out ministers and fascists ”. In April 2004, Sarkozy, on behalf of his ministry, brought an action against snipers in Rouen for glorifying violence and calling for the murder of officials. The members of the group faced five years imprisonment and a fine of 45,000 euros. On August 25, 2006, the Rouen Court of Appeal acquitted the group in the second instance . The album "Du rire aux larmes", in which the lines in question could be heard, has now been sold over 250,000 times.
Her biggest hit single was "Gravé dans la roche" (No. 5 in France). Her highest-placed album is her 2006 work "Trait pour trait" (No. 1 in France). You also recorded the track “Quoi qu'il arrive” in 2007 for the film T4xi . In 2007 Aketo released his solo album "Cracheur de venin", which includes some recordings with French rappers such as Alkpote, Soprano , Salif, Seth Gueko , Sefyu , Six Coups Mc and L'Skadrille. In 2008 Tunisiano released his solo album "Les Regard des Gens", which is sold very successfully and was also well received in the German hip-hop scene. The album also differs from the previous Sniper albums and dispenses with provocative lyrics; there are also very cosmopolitan titles such as “Citoyen du Monde” (feat. Zaho ).
