The Wombats is an alternative rock - band from Liverpool , England . The band was formed in 2003 by Dan Haggis ( drums ), Matthew "Murph" Murphy ( vocals , guitar ) and Tord Øverland-Knudsen ( bass ).
history
Haggis, Murphy and Øverland met in 2003 at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts , where they became friends and decided to start a band. In 2006 her debut single Lost in the Post / Party in a Forest (Where's Laura) was released. The band also released an EP called Girls, Boys and Marsupials , which was only available in Japan. In 2007, The Wombats released their first album for the international market called The Wombats Proudly Present: A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation . This was followed by her first European tour. In 2008 the band played at many concerts and festivals such as the famous Glastonbury Festival or the Frequency . In the same year, the single Is This Christmas? followed by My Circuitboard City . Her second album The Wombats Proudly Present: This Modern Glitch was released on April 25, 2011.
