Amaral is a Spanish pop and rock group founded in 1997 by Eva Amaral and Juan Aguirre in Zaragoza . The duo's music is influenced by Latino rhythm and synthesizer sounds , the lyrics are metaphorical and poetic. The greatest success so far was the album Pájaros en la cabeza (translated directly, birds in the head or figuratively lousy in the head ), which was the best-selling album of 2005 in Spain.

The band's best-known song is El universo sobre mí , which was number 1 in the Spanish singles charts for three weeks in March 2005.

On June 27, 2008, Amaral performed at the 46664 Concert for Nelson Mandela in Hyde Park, London . On March 3, 2010 the band played on the Spanish Night as part of the Spanish CeBIT year.
