Infernal (Danish band)
Infernal is a Danish dance music duo from Copenhagen . It consists of Paw Lagermann (born July 30, 1977) and Lina Rafn (born August 12, 1976). Søren Haahr was also the third musician on the first album, who left in 2001 to start his own project Red $ tar.
history
Their debut single Sorti de l'enfer was released in 1997 and their first album Infernal Affairs in 1998 , which was the first national hit with the techno version of the Russian song Kalinka . For this album they received a Danish Grammy.
In 2001 the albums Waiting for Delight and Muzaik appeared , on which Let Me Hear You Say Yeah , another national hit, was represented. In 2003, together with the German group SNAP! the single The Cult of Noise .
In 2004, their most successful album to date, From Paris to Berlin , was released, the title track of which was among the top 20 in several European charts and even in Australia in 2005. In May 2006, they took second place in the British charts. During the 2006 World Cup in Germany, a cover version was created entitled From London to Berlin , which was the anthem of British soccer fans during the World Cup.
Infernal is known for their experimental house with techno tones , where they mix different genres and instruments with techno. With Kalinka it was a sample of Russian choir singing, with Sorti de l'enfer bagpipe music , with Muzaik scat singing and with Banjo Thing a banjo .
This and that
While the original of From Paris to Berlin flopped in Austria, the cover version by Austrian singer Disco Bee made it to number 14 on the Austrian charts.
