Hadise (2011)

Hadise (born October 22, 1985 in Mol as Hadise Açıkgöz ) is a Belgian - Turkish pop singer and TV presenter who took part in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest .

Life

Hadise Açıkgöz grew up as the second oldest of four siblings in Mol, Belgium, where her parents, originally from the Caucasus , emigrated from Sivas in 1972 . In 2002, Hadise won the beauty pageant in her hometown and was named "Miss Mol". In 2006 she completed her marketing studies with a bachelor's degree.

Career

Hadise became known to a wider audience in 2003 when she took part in the Flemish casting show Idool . Although she left, she got a recording deal with 2Brain Records.

On April 2, 2008 it was announced that she was hosting the second season of X-Factor in Belgium on VTM.

At the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow she represented Turkey with the song Düm Tek Tek (Crazy for You) . For this she received a sum of 450,000 YTL from the state broadcaster TRT . Despite a cold, she finally took fourth place in the ESC final. The song even reached the top of the Belgian (Flanders) single charts and other placements in the rest of Europe.

She is also a jury member of the Turkish casting shows O Ses Türkiye (The Voice of Turkey) (1st season to date) and O Ses Çocuklar (The Voice of Kids).
