Kenan Doğulu (born May 31, 1974 in Istanbul ) is a Turkish pop singer.

Life

Doğulu has a long musical education behind him, which he began at the age of five. He completed his higher musical education at the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles and later at the Bilgi University in Istanbul. Doğulu achieved notoriety and musical success in Turkey in 1993 with his first album Yaparım Bilirsin ( You know, I do it ). His subsequent albums cemented his success. Today he is one of the established greats in Turkish pop music.

On the occasion of the celebrations for the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Turkish republic, Doğulu toured all of Turkey on his republic tour ( Cumhuriyet Turnesi ) in 1998 and covered old military marching music from the time of the founding of the republic for a long time.

He is the owner of the Doğulu Productions record company, where u. a. Bengü is under contract.

Kenan Doğulu represented Turkey at the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 in Helsinki with the slightly oriental dance song Shake it up shekerim . Doğulu started the final with the number 22 and finished fourth with 163 points. According to a survey by the Turkish newspaper Milliyet in the run-up to the competition, 58 percent of the 50,768 participants did not like the song, 42 percent thought it was good.

Kenan Doğulu married the Turkish actress Beren Saat on July 29, 2014 in Los Angeles, USA .
