Klips ve Onlar

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Klips ve Onlar was a short-lived Turkish pop band .

They represented Turkey at the 1986 Eurovision Song Contest in Bergen with the song "Halley" , which revolved around Halley's Comet , which in 1986 was back near the earth after 76 years. The text dealt with the greeting of the comet and a communication with it to bring happiness and blessings to the earth and the inhabitants of the earth, with other passages of the text representing the response of the comet, which thus greeted the earth in several languages and announced that it was just out of it Reason came to bring good luck and blessings.

In the end, the composition by Ilhan Irem and Melih Kibar came ninth - Yugoslavia got the highest number of points and Germany 8 and thus the highest number of points from Germany to Turkey, which has been participating since 1975. Ninth place was the best result in the country's Grand Prix history to date and remained so until 1997 .

Members of the group were originally Sevingül Bahadır, Gür Akad, Emre Tukur, Derya Bozkurt and Seden Kutlubay. However, the latter did not take part in the actual song contest - apparently for private reasons - and was replaced by Candan Erçetin in Bergen .
