Beren Saat (born February 26, 1984 in Ankara ) is a Turkish actress .

Life

Beren Saat studied at the Bilkent University in Ankara. She took part in the “Türkiye'nin Yıldızları” ( Stars of Turkey ) drama competition and came second. It was there that their talent was discovered. She moved to Istanbul with her mother in order to be offered a role . In 2004 she played the role of Nermin in the series " Aşkımızda Ölüm Var " . In 2005 Saat was seen at the side of Mahsun Kırmızıgül in the TV series " Aşka Sürgün ". She achieved her breakthrough in the series "Hatırla Sevgili". The TV series is about a love story between Yasemin (Beren Saat) and Ahmet ( Cansel Elçin ), who come from opposing families. In the background are the historical events of the 1960s in Turkey. She became even better known, especially outside Turkey, through the TV series “ Aşk-ı Memnu ” on the side of Selçuk Yöntem and Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ . In the film adaptation of the novel by Halid Ziya Uşaklıgil , she played the role of Bihter Ziyagil . In the TV series, the young and beautiful Bihter married the wealthy Adnan . She cheats on him with his nephew Behlül (Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ). The series has received numerous awards. In 2008 Beren Saat first appeared on the big screen. “Güz Sancısı” (German: Herbstleid) addresses the political climate in Turkey in 1955 and combines it with a hopeless love story. In this film as well as in “Aşka Sürgün” she worked with the successful director Tomris Giritlioğlu . In 2009 Beren Saat played the role of Gece in the movie "Gecenin Kanatları" (German: the wings of the night) . In 2010 she gave her voice to Barbie from Toy Story 3 at the side of Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ and in 2012 Merida from Merida - Legend of the Highlands .

The actress is also involved in social projects. In the series “ Fatmagül'ün Sucu Ne? “(German: What is Fatmagül's fault?) She confronts Fatmagül , a young girl who is raped and, in addition, made from victim to guilty by her tormentors. Beren Saat says:

Private

Beren Saat initially lived in Ankara. After attending Türkiye'nin Yıldızları, she moved to Istanbul with her mother. She has an older brother. She speaks both English and Spanish. In her free time she likes to play tennis or go dancing. On July 29, 2014, she married the Turkish singer Kenan Doğulu in Los Angeles .
