Dan Mihai Bălan (born February 6, 1979 in Chișinău ), also known as Crazy Loop , is a Moldovan singer , musician and music producer . He sings in Romanian, Russian, Spanish and English.

Career

Before Bălan took part in O-Zone , he was the singer and keyboardist of a doom metal band called Inferialis from Chișinău (Republic of Moldova). Petru Jelihovschi, who only started with O-Zone and died in 2012, was also a singer with Inferialis . The band existed from 1996 to 1998 and completed a limited demo cassette with two songs.

Bălan achieved his greatest success in 2004 with the band O-Zone . He composed almost all of the group's songs, including the international hit Dragostea din tei .

In October 2007 Bălan released the single Crazy Loop (Mm-ma-ma) under the pseudonym Crazy Loop, which landed at number 1 in the Romanian charts. It was published in Germany on July 4th, 2008 and entered the charts at number 18. Shortly afterwards he landed at number one on the Romanian charts with his second single Johanna (Shut Up!) From the album The Power of Shower . In 2011 the Russian-language single Лишь до утра ( transcription Lisch do utra ) followed, which reached number 3 in the charts in Russia.

In 2019 he was one of the jurors in the 9th season of the Ukrainian TV show "Voice of Ukraine". During a performance at the " Star of Asia " festival in Kazakhstan, he sang a duet with the Kazakh singer Indira Elemes "Men seni unatyp edim".
