Kakkmaddafakka is a Norwegian indie pop - band , which in 2004 Bergen was founded. The band's music style is a mixture of rock , rap , disco and pop . The band's name comes from a fantasy language and to the importance of English party animal or German  party animal have.

history

The two brothers Axel and Pål Vindenes performed with their school friends Stian Sævig and Jonas Nielsen in a youth center in Norway and due to the positive evaluation the band received, they were soon giving concerts all over Norway . The band's first EP was titled Allready Your Favorite EP and was released in 2007.

The band's first album, Down To Earth , was also released in 2007 and, despite negative criticism, proved to be a success, so that the band gained fame, especially in their home country Norway. The band is one of the groups that emerged from the New Bergen Wave - a movement that, according to the Norwegian press, spawned many new artists.

Kakkmaddafakka was particularly noticeable for her bizarre live performances, which received international attention. Not least because of the two background dancers and singers , the "Kakkmaddachoir", who have become a kind of trademark of the band. They have played at numerous festivals since 2008, including the Iceland Airwaves , the Open Air St. Gallen , the Montreux Jazz Festival and The Secret Garden Party, as well as the Melt Festival in Germany in 2009 and 2010 .

On February 25, 2011, her second studio album was released under the name Hest . It contained the previously released singles Restless and Your Girl , which gained a certain fame through the radio even outside of the live performances, as well as the songs Is She , Touching and the instrumental Heidelberg . In 2012 and 2013 Kakkmaddafakka played at other major festivals in Europe, such as the Hurricane Festival , the Southside , Rock am Ring and Rock im Park , the Lowlands and the Arenal Sound Festival .

The third album Six Months Is A Long Time was released on June 28, 2013. Since the recordings for the album lasted six months, it got this title. It contains the songs Someone New , Young and Forever Alone .

On August 18, 2013, Kakkmaddafakka was the headliner in the line-up of the Hamburg MS Dockville Festival . In the run-up to the performance, keyboardist Jonas Nielsen had to be hospitalized with serious heart problems, so the band had to cancel their performance and was replaced by the Icelandic band FM Belfast . He was then able to take part in other concerts again. In the meantime, Nielsen has left the band in order to have more time for other projects. Sebastian Emin Kittelsen has been playing the keyboard in the band since spring 2014 .

In 2014 the band performed at the Taubertal Festival and the Chiemsee Reggae Summer Festival, among others .

The fourth album KMF by Kakkmaddafakka was released on March 18, 2016. The title of the album is an acronym of the band name. With the release of the album, Kakkmaddafakka announced that they would do without the "Kakkmaddachoir" in the future, as the band long for a change and want to develop further.
