FM Belfast is an electro / pop band from Reykjavík . The group consists of Lóa Hlín Hjálmtýsdóttir, Árni Rúnar Hlöðversson, Árni Vilhjálmsson and Örvar Þóreyjarson Smárason .

history

The band started in 2005 only with Hjálmtýsdóttir and Hlöðversson. Until Árni Vilhjálmsson and Örvar Þóreyjarson Smárason came on, however, there were no notable successes. In 2006 they performed at the Iceland Airwaves Festival, taking the step from a studio project to a live band.

The number of members varies from 3 to 8, depending on who can appear. The core of the band are Árni Rúnar Hlöðversson, Árni Vilhjálmsson and Lóa Hlín Hjálmtýsdóttir. Occasionally Örvar Þóreyjarson Smárason, Sveinbjorn Hermann Pálsson, Björn Kristjánsson, Birgitta Birgisdóttir, Eiríkur Orri also take part in performances.

The first album was recorded in New York and Iceland. Recording, mixing and the design of the cover were done by the members of the band themselves.
