Band history

Elena, Marina and Olga in Helsinki (2007)

Serebro, consisting of Jelena Temnikowa, Olga Serjabkina and Marina Lisorkina, was put together in 2006 by the well-known Russian pop music producer Maxim Fadejew . Fadeev counts the singers Linda and Julija Sawitschewa among his protégés. The latter artist represented Russia in 2004 at the 49th Eurovision Song Contest in Istanbul .

The pop band was on March 10, 2007 internally by an expert jury of the television station Channel One selected, Russia at 52 Euro Vision Song Contest in Finland Helsinki responsible. With the English-language title Song # 1 composed by Maxim Fadejew , Serebro was automatically placed for the final on May 12th, after Dima Bilan took second place last year . Although the girl group had not made a public appearance and made their stage debut with the ESC final, they were counted among the extended circle of favorites by international betting agencies and were able to take third place behind the winner Marija Šerifović from Serbia and the drag queen Verka Serduchka ( Ukraine ).

On June 18, 2009 it was announced that Marina Lisorkina is leaving the band for financial and personal reasons. She was replaced by Anastassija Karpowa.

After Anastassija Karpova left at the end of September 2013, Darja "Dasha" Schaschina was accepted into the group as a new singer at the beginning of October 2013. Karpowa justified her departure with the planned start of a solo career.
