Buranowskije Babuschki ( Russian Бура́новские ба́бушки , udmurtisch Брангуртысь песянайёс , German grandmothers from Buranowo ), English spelling Buranovskiye Babushki , is a Russian singing group. She has existed for more than 40 years and represented Russia with the song Party for Everybody at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku , where she took second place with 259 points. The Buranowskije Babushki sing in English and Udmurt .
Band history
The eight women, including six singers, with an average age of about 66 years had prevailed in the preliminary round in Moscow with the song Party for Everybody against Dima Bilan and 24 competitors after they had already appeared in the national preliminary round in 2010 and took place had occupied three. The oldest singer was 76 years old.
They also covered songs like Hotel California by the Eagles and Yesterday by the Beatles . The women appear in the costumes of their Udmurt homeland in the western Ural region . Their goal was to earn enough money to renovate a church in their home village .

The artistic director of the group is Olga Nikolajewna Tuktarjowa ( Ольга Туктарёва , born April 26, 1968). Jelisaveta Sarbatowa ( Елизавета Зарбатова , * 1926 - † January 13, 2014) occasionally appeared as a guest singer.
During the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, the singers Granja Baissarowa, Galina Konewa, Walentina Pjachenko, Natalja Pugacheva and Ekaterina Schkljajewa were on stage alongside Olga Tuktarjowa. The rest were not allowed to appear because the ESC rules prohibit more than six people on stage. The central figure of the performance was Pugacheva, whose small stature and warmth were emphasized during the performance. She also carried across the stage the baking sheet that Konewa had pulled out of the oven at the show.
