Youddiph
Youddiph ( Russian Юдифь ; born January 23, 1973 in Moscow as Marija Lwowna Katz , Russian Мария Львовна Кац ) is a Russian singer .
The former background singer of the jazz pop band Kwartal was allowed to take part in the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest as the winner of the Russian preselection as the first ever interpreter for Russia . With the hymn Wetschni strannik , she reached ninth place. That year she also released an English solo album: Eternal Wanderer .
The following time she was mainly active as a background singer and supported numerous pop, rock and blues musicians and bands with their recordings. From 2002 to 2003 she was a vocal trainer for the Russian talent show Stan Swesdoi ( Стань звездой ).
