Najwa Nimri Urrutikoetxea (born February 14, 1972 in Pamplona ) is a Spanish - Jordanian songwriter and actress .
Life
Najwa Nimri's mother is from Navarra , Spain and her father is from Jordan . In her childhood she lived with her family in Bilbao , today she lives in Madrid . She played her first significant role as an actress in Salto al vacío , Daniel Carparsoro's film debut . Since 2019 she has played the Inspectora Alicia Sierra in the Spanish Netflix series House of Money .
She began Nimri's career as a singer in various small groups until she met Carlos Jean , with whom she formed the band Najwajean . In addition, she has released three solo albums so far.

Awards
- For the lead role in Salto al vacío by Daniel Calparsoro, Najwa Nimri received the Jean Carment Award at the Premiers Plans - Festival d'Angers in 1996.
- Najwa Nimri has already been nominated four times for the Spanish Goya Film Award. In 1999 her leading role in Julio Médem's feature film The Lovers of the Arctic Circle was to be honored, for which she was nominated for the prizes of the Spanish Unión de Actores and the Fotogramas de Plata, and was awarded the main prize by the Premios Ondas. In 2001 she was nominated together with Nacho Mastretta and Carlos Jean for the best original music (Mejor Música Original) in Daniel Calparsoro's film Asfalto - Kalter Asphalt , in which she also played the leading role. In the following year she was nominated for Lucía und der Sex as best supporting actress for the Goya and the Prize of the Unión de Actores. She received her last nomination for a Goya in 2003 together with Carlos Jean for the best original song in the film Guerreros by Daniel Calparsoro.
- In 2005, Nimri received a silver biznaga at the Festival de Cine Español de Málaga for the best original music in Ramón Salazar's film 20 centímetros .
