Littooij in Zwolle (2014)

Nielson (born December 28, 1989 in Dordrecht ), real name Niels Littooij , is a Dutch singer-songwriter .

Career

Littooij attended the Herman Brood Academy in Utrecht , where he specialized in rap . In 2008 he won the preliminary round of the Rotterdam arts with a rap act . He then played in the opening act for The Opposites, among others . In 2009, Littooij accepted a request from Nickelodeon Nederland to join the newly founded singing and dance group, Circus Circus . In 2011 the group broke up and Littooij turned to writing Nederpop songs. In 2012 he took part in the talent casting show De beste singer-songwriter van Nederland by VARA , BNN and 3FM . Although he could not win the competition, he landed a hit with his self-written title Beauty en de brains . In early 2013 he released his second single Zo kan het dus ook . In April of the same year Littooij brought out his third single Hoe with Miss Montreal .

According to his own statement, Littooij's songs thematically cover the most diverse facets of life. His songs alternate between singer-songwriter style and Dutch-language pop music . Littooij mentions soul and hip-hop as the source of inspiration for this .
