Loredana (rapper)

Loredana (born September 1, 1995 in Lucerne ; bourgeois Loridana Zefi ; after marriage Loridana Aliu Zefi ) is a German-speaking rapper from Switzerland with Kosovar nationality .

Life

Loredana was born in Lucerne and grew up as the child of Albanian parents from Kosovo in Emmenbrücke in the canton of Lucerne . After finishing school, she completed a commercial apprenticeship . She has nine older siblings. She started her career on Instagram with a lip-sync video for the track Habibi by the French rapper Maître Gims . She received support in spreading her posts mainly from her boyfriend at the time (and later husband), the Kosovar rapper Mozzik . Subsequently, she mainly published selfies , which she showed with her different outfits. In this way she gained around 100,000 subscribers. She opened a YouTube channel on June 15, 2018 and uploaded the music video for her song, sunglasses . The track was produced by Miksu and Macloud . The trap and cloud rap style song reached 13 million views and 200,000 likes on YouTube within 15 days.

On September 14, 2018, the single Bonnie & Clyde was released with their boyfriend Mozzik, which exceeded the success of its predecessor with top 3 placements in German-speaking countries. Even Romeo & Juliet , published in February 2019, the top three reached the charts in Germany . Her debut album King Lori was released on September 13, 2019. With the single Kein Plan she reached number one in the German single charts for the first time in September 2019 .

She has a daughter (* 2018) with her former partner Mozzik alias Gramoz Aliu. In October 2019 Loredana announced that the couple had split up privately and on business and that she would go alone on the "Bonnie & Clyde Tour 2020", which has since been known as the "King Lori Tour". After the first concert, the tour had to be canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic .

Loredana is a Kosovar citizen. At the end of 2013, she submitted an application to acquire Swiss citizenship , but she did not take any further action afterwards, so that the application was regarded as "administratively done".

In February 2020, a photo of her appeared on the front page of the FAZ magazine . At the Swiss Music Awards 2020 she won in the category Best Breaking Act .

Fraud allegations

Loredana was temporarily arrested by the canton police on May 7, 2019 in her apartment in Lucerne . She and one of her older brothers are said to have brought an elderly couple for over 600,000 francs by means of a scam  . The public prosecutor has launched an investigation against Loredana on suspicion of fraud of 350,000 francs, her brother is not being investigated because the payments were made voluntarily and the complainant disregarded the most basic precautionary measures.

Loredana is also said to have pretended to be the daughter of the well-known lawyer Valentin Landmann several times as part of the fraud in order to gain financial advantages.

Shortly after her arrest and interrogation, Loredana was released because, according to the Lucerne public prosecutor, there is no risk of escape or blackout . Two days later she flew to Pristina in Kosovo with her then husband Mozzik . There she gave a press conference on the subject in which she was not conscious of any guilt and denied fraud. The couple made payments voluntarily and the money was merely borrowed.

At the end of May 2019, Loredana canceled all festival appearances for 2019 via Instagram.
