Emicida (2009)

Emicida (actually Leandro Roque de Oliveira ; born August 17, 1985 in São Paulo ) is a Brazilian rapper .

Life

Leandro grew up in a poor family and began his career in the early 1990s. It was then that he wrote his first rhymes and used equipment from black music events that his parents organized on the outskirts of São Paulo . His father died during Leandro's childhood, which is discussed in the song Ooorra ... The rapper is known for his improvised rhymes that have made him one of the most respected MCs in Brazil. His stage name is a suitcase word from MC and "Homicida" ("murderer").

In 2015 he released the album Sobre Crianças, Quadris, Pesadelos e Lições de Casa , which means something like "Of children, hips, nightmares and home work". It appeared on its own label . He mixes different rhythms in his songs, for example from the Samba , the Maracatu or the Forró .

He recorded the song AmarElo from his album of the same name from 2019 together with the drag queen Pabllo Vittar .
