Alma (2018)

Alma-Sofia Miettinen (born January 17, 1996 in Kuopio ) is a Finnish musician , singer and songwriter from the electro-pop genre .

Life

She achieved her first notoriety in music through the Finnish offshoot of Pop Idol , and in 2013 she took fifth place. After the show she acted as a backing singer for the Finnish rapper Sini Sabotage. Alma signed her first recording deal with Universal Music in March 2016, and her first single, Karma , was released in June . With Felix Jaehn , she produced the song Bonfire in 2016 , which reached number three in the German charts for five weeks. The song was composed by Joe Walter, member of the German band Jennifer Rostock . On October 28, 2016, she released the Dye My Hair EP with two new songs. Her third single, Chasing Highs , was released on March 24th . Dye My Hair and Chasing Highs were both awarded gold in Germany with over 200,000 units sold, while Chasing Highs was also awarded gold in Great Britain . In June 2017 the single All Stars was released , which the DJ Martin Solveig recorded with her. Together with French Montana she recorded her single Phases , released in 2017 . The British singer Charli XCX recorded the song Out of My Head with her and the Swedish singer Tove Lo , which was released as a single from XCX's mixtape Pop2 .

On March 2nd, 2018 the mixtape Heavy Rules Mixtape was released with a total of six songs. Alma has sought support from the Danish singer-songwriter ( Dance For Me ), the Swedish singer-songwriter Tove Styrke ( Good Vibes ) and Kiiara ( Chit Chat ), a singer and songwriter from the USA. Alma announced on March 3, 2018 that she would tour Europe and the United States. The tour kicked off April 23 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. She made a guest contribution to a remix of Tove Los Song Bitches , which she recorded alongside Lo and Charli XCX with Icona Pop and Elliphant .

In 2019 her first studio album Have You Seen Her? released, previously the singles Cowboy and When I Die were released. She will also go on tour again in 2019 and come to Germany with it.
