Elliphant (actually Ellinor Miranda Salomea Olovsdotter ; born October 8, 1985 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish electro and dancehall singer.
Career
Growing up in Stockholm, she dropped out of school at the age of 15 and worked a. a. as a waitress. She was diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia while at school . After dropping out of school, she traveled and attended numerous techno parties , where she tried her hand at singing for the first time. She got her first record deal with the indie label Ten Music Group . Your stage name Elliphant came about during an extended stay in Great Britain. There she found pleasure in the typical London sound.
She celebrated her first musical success with her debut single Tekkno Scene . The song was recorded with Adam Kanyama and used in the Fifa 13 video game . In April 2013 she released a music video for Down on Life , which was praised by Katy Perry on the social media network Twitter . This gave her an enormous boost in popularity. In the same year her debut album A Good Idea was released on the major label Universal . On April 15, 2014 she released her EP Look Like You Love It . In December 2014, she entered the German single charts with the song No Money No Love , which was recorded in collaboration with the Dutch DJ duo Showtek and the French DJ David Guetta .
Elliphant describes her music with the words: "Futuristic - Wild - Back to the past - Dirty - Fresh." Their music is reminiscent of MIA , Diplo and Icona Pop .
