Aya Nakamura

Aya Nakamura (* 10. May 1995 in Bamako ; actually Aya Danioko ) is a French - Malian Contemporary R & B - singer . She grew up in Aulnay-sous-Bois in Seine-Saint-Denis . In 2017 she released her first album, Journal intime .

Life

Aya Nakamura was born in 1995 in Bamako , Mali, as the first of five children. When she was a child, her family moved to France in Aulnay-sous-Bois in Île-de-France . She originally wanted to work in the fashion industry, but after a while dropped out of college to pursue a career as a singer.

She adapted her stage name from the television series Heroes , in which one of the main characters was Hiro Nakamura. Her first song Karma was released on Facebook in 2014 . Then J'ai followed on YouTube . In 2015, she had her breakthrough with the video for Brisé , which received more than 13 million views. With Love d'un voyou est , a collaboration with the rapper Fababy followed . The title was also her first chart success in France, where it reached the top 10.

The debut album Journal intime followed in 2017 and reached number six in the French charts.

In 2018, Aya Nakamura released the single Djadja . The single was not only well received in France , Belgium , Switzerland or Francophone Africa , but also in the Netherlands , where it took first place in the Dutch singles charts. The video clip was viewed over 313 million times in early 2019. In August 2018 she released her new single Copines .

In Germany, too, she reached number 43 with Djadja , albeit with several weeks delay, her first chart position. The background is a remix of the song by the rapper Loredana .

In January 2019, Nakamura received the Music Moves Europe Talent Award in the R'n'B / Urban category, which honors European newcomers.
