Ateez ( Korean 에이 티즈 ) is a South Korean K-Pop group under the label KQ Entertainment and consists of the eight members Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung and Jongho. The group made its debut on October 24th, 2018. The group attracted attention mainly through their performance-oriented appearances, demanding choreographies and strong stage presence.

history

2018

Even before their debut, the members of Ateez were known as Kq Fellaz. As Kq Fellaz they published a YouTube series "Kq Fellaz American training" and published dance performance videos for the songs Pick it up by Famous Dex, Lick by Cardi B and Outlet by Desiigner .

On October 24, 2018, the group made their debut under the name Ateez with the songs Treasure and Pirate King . The songs were part of the EP Treasure EP 1: All to Zero .

2019

On January 15th, Ateez released their second EP Treasure EP 2: Zero to One with the single Say My Name . A performance video for the song Hala Hala from the same EP was released on February 7th.

Two months after the Zero To One EP was released, Ateez's first tour "The Expedition Tour" started on March 15 in Los Angeles, followed by four more appearances in Dallas , Chicago , Atlanta and New York . Subsequently, further concerts in Europe in the cities of London , Lisbon , Paris , Berlin , Amsterdam , Budapest , Stockholm , Warsaw and Moscow were announced on February 20th as part of the "Expedition Tour" for the month of April.

The third EP Treasure EP 3: One To All was released on June 10, 2018 with the single Wave . Instead of Ateez or their label, the lead single was primarily voted on by the fans through a voting event on the "MyMusicTaste" page. The choice was between the songs Wave and Illusion, the music videos of which were both uploaded to YouTube on June 10th .

On August 9th and 11th, Ateez performed again as part of the "Expedition Tour" in Melbourne and Sydney . On August 20th, the group received their first prize for "Best Performance" at the Korean Soribada Awards.

Ateez released their first full studio album Treasure EP, Fin: All to Action, on October 8th with the theme song Wonderland , which is currently their most popular song. A month later, the group made their debut in Japan on November 10th with the Japanese version of the song Utopia , which was originally heard in Korean on the Treasure EP 3: One To All EP.

At the beginning of December, Ateez had their first appearance at one of the currently largest Korean music awards, the Mnet Asian Music Awards . A month after Ateez's first Japanese single was released, their first Japanese studio album Treasure Ep. Extra: Shift The Map was released on December 4th.

2020

Ateez released their fourth EP Treasure Epilogue: Action to Answer on January 6th, 2020 and represents the finale of the "Treasure Series". The music video for the single Answer was released on the same day as the accompanying EP.
