reception
The album received mostly positive reviews.
- The website laut.de gave the album three out of a possible five points and above all praised the cooperation between rapper and producer:
“At the latest with the in-the-face instrumental of 'Raw', the last head nods in time. 'You pack 50 words in two bars, you have a thousand punchlines, but the delivery sucks'. Rhyme chain fanatics and syllable counters go away empty-handed. The thrown out lines form a symbiosis with the perfectly produced beats that simply fits. The 27-year-old doesn't need double time or sophisticated rhymes to achieve the desired effect. The simple recipe works because you take the ignorant attitude away from Eisenmann. [...] One should actually be disappointed that in 2015 Lance still raps almost exclusively about chicks, bags and pocket money. Actually. It is paradoxical: continuity is strength and weakness at the same time. On the one hand, two years without a release is a long time. On the other hand, that's exactly what 'Blaow' is doing so well. After the mask man had gone underground for a long time, one is simply happy about the casually pissed off flow on the great productions by Bennett On. And that is also the greatest strength of the record: Beats and delivery seem like one piece. You can hear in every second of the long player that the two have been working together for years. The Iron Man of Rap is cementing its own little niche. "

- On rap.de , the album is certified as having a coherent overall picture:
“'Blaow' doesn't sound annoyingly redundant or boring. At most bored. Because not a bit has changed in Lance's attitude either. As before, he stretches the syllables and spits them well chewed like chewing gum kneaded a thousand times with his teeth on the gloomy instrumentals of his congenial partner Bennett On. [...] It's by no means about constantly thinking up new stories, frantically developing new formulas, or artificially creating variety. No. It is much more important that the attitude is right, that the vocabulary is recognizable, that the beats create a round and coherent overall picture. The rest will then take care of itself. It can be that simple - and that is how simple 'Blaow' works. Because it's a classic, ignorant rap album and doesn't want to be anything else. "
- The MZEE website described the album as a successful development by Lance Butters:
“But can the arrogant Prollrap also convince at album length? The answer is yes and no. In fact, after the umpteenth exaggeratedly stressed 'I'm awesome, you shit' punchline, signs of fatigue are gradually becoming apparent. But Lance secretly adds another interesting facet to his rap: Self-doubt and melancholy shimmer again and again through the lyrics of the otherwise tough Eisenmann. The vulnerability of Lance Butter is not described in extravagantly deep kitsch tracks - and that's a good thing. Instead, loneliness and problems are usually only hinted at until they unfold completely in what is probably the strongest song on the record, 'Es sucht / Ich zieh'. With 'Blaow', the rapper not only provides food for fans of arrogant punchline rap. He also consistently thinks the character of Lance Butter further, makes it more tangible and more vulnerable and thus much more interesting. This clearly shows that Lance can do a lot more than just be arrogant and draw lines. "
