Wincent Weiss (born January 21, 1993 in Bad Oldesloe ) is a German pop singer and songwriter .

career

2013–2017: the beginning of a career and something against the silence

In 2013 Weiss took part in the tenth season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar (DSDS), was among the last 29 candidates, but then dropped out. He then became known for a cover version of the song Unter Meine Haut by Elif Demirezer after he recorded an acoustic version on the piano and uploaded it to YouTube . About two years later the DJs Gestört but GeiL and Koby Funk played a remix of the song at a festival. In July 2015, this remix was sixth in the German single charts . The single was able to stay in the German charts for over a year and was awarded three gold records .

On September 11, 2015, he released his first solo single Regenbogen and on April 11, 2016, the platinum-single Musik followed as the first release from his debut album. In 2017 he also reached the German single charts with fireworks . For this, too, he received a gold record. On April 14, 2017 his first album Irgendwas gegen die Stille was released , which reached number three in the German album charts and was awarded platinum with 200,000 units sold . In May 2017 he was part of the German ESC jury in Kiev . The author's participation in the song Lieb mich then by Helene Fischer also appeared in the same month. On August 11th, the third and final single from his first album was released, Fresh Air . An acoustic version of his first album was released on October 27, 2017. He also released the two previously unreleased songs 365 days and not wake me up , which he had previously only played live, on a deluxe version of the album . In November 2017 he started a tour with 24 concerts. In the same month he won the award for the best German artist at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2017 .

Since 2018: Somehow different and sing my song

In March 2018 he was nominated for the Echo in the categories Artist Pop National and Newcomer National and on April 12, 2018 he was awarded the latter in the category Newcomer National . On the same day he released the single An Wunder , which entered the German single charts at number 18 and reached number 12 as its maximum placement. On November 2, 2018, Another single from his second studio album Irgendwie anders , which was released on March 29, 2019, was released with Hier mit dir . Before that, the songs Plans and Hardly anticipate were released as the third and fourth single. In the 2018 film Tabaluga , he dubbed the title character. Weiss was a participant in the sixth season of Sing my Song - The Exchange Concert .

The single once in a lifetime was released on September 20, 2019 and the single Kein Lied on December 6, 2019 .

On June 20, 2020, he gave the first indoor concert since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic in the Lanxess Arena in Cologne .
