Timothy Touchton

Timothy "Tim" Touchton (born June 17, 1946 ) is an American musician , composer and record producer .

Life

Timothy Touchton comes from Palatka and grew up in North Florida , where he graduated in Communication Studies in 1969 from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Arts graduated -degree. He took psychology , advertising and photography as minor subjects .

Musical work

In the 1960s he played in a band called The Illusions Band . In 1971 he was signed to CBS Records and toured the United States and Canada as a drummer with Bobbie Gentry .

A year later he moved to Germany , where he played the role of " Pontius Pilatus " in the rock musical Jesus Christ Superstar . He settled there in Munich and was a member of the pop choir Family Tree , which was put together by Günter “Yogi” Lauke (* 1945) in the summer of 1972 and to which Claus “Tommy” Dittmar († 2000), Donna Summer and Monique Melsen belonged. Family Tree has appeared in many European television studios and at concerts. In 1975 he replaced at Love Generation the place of Frank Cornelys son Gregor Cornely (born Gregory Wilczek), the meantime, the Dutch singer Jerry Rix occupied. Shortly before the breakup, he left the group.

Solo he released his first single with Ariola in 1974, entitled I Hope It Sells Millions . Since then, others have followed, in 1990 one with Bernie Paul You for Me and Me for You .

As a solo performer he could be heard on June 1, 1978 with I Love You More than My Wife in the music show Musikladen from Radio Bremen and appeared in Ilja Richter's music show disco on March 23, 1981 with Daddy Was a Boxer .

Composition and production

Timothy Touchton, who runs his own recording studio in Munich, has written and produced a large number of songs for well-known performers to this day. He wrote eleven European Top 40 titles, three of which made it into the so-called Top M5 of the German charts. In 1975, he wrote, for example, along with Christian Bruhn , Abi Ofarim and Suzanne Doucet of Anja Hauptmann's song My Child, Music . Together with Claus Dittmar, Günther Moll and Veit Marvos, he wrote the title I stay only one night for Peter Maffay , which can be heard on the album Und es war Sommer (1976). He also wrote theme songs for television productions. Particularly noteworthy is his collaboration on The Social Network Song (oh oh -uh- oh oh) , with which Valentina Monetta reached 14th place in semifinals 1 at the Eurovision Song Contest for her home country San Marino in 2012 .

Private

Timothy Touchton is married to the Polish artist Halina Brandt-Touchton and lives in Munich.
