Anja Hauptmann

Anja Hauptmann (* 1943 ) is a German singer, songwriter and translator for English-language musicals.

Live and act

She was the daughter of Benvenuto Hauptmann (1900–1965), a son of the poet Gerhart Hauptmann , and his fourth and last wife Barbara, b. Schneggenburger, a daughter of the conductor Max von Schillings , was born and had the half-brother Arne Hauptmann (1932–1992), a physicist. From 1965 she was an announcer at ZDF for some time .

Hauptmann wrote lyrics a. a. for Katja Ebstein , Daliah Lavi , Rex Gildo , Su Kramer , Lena Valaitis and Curd Jürgens . In 1975 she released the album Mein Kind , which she wrote and sung under her own name ; A year later, the ZDF production Mein Kind, Lieder by and with Anja Hauptmann was created for this album .

She is also a translator from English, u. a. of poems by Rudyard Kipling and lyrics by Leonard Cohen . She also translated numerous musical texts into German, including a. Jesus Christ Superstar (1970) and Dirty Dancing .
