Christa Gierke-Wedel

Christa Gierke-Wedel (born Christa Gierke , also Christa Haas ) (born July 4, 1954 ) is a German sports presenter.

Christa Gierke-Wedel has been present on German television as Christa Haas since the early 1990s and initially appeared as a roller skater and long jumper herself . She has been working for ZDF since 1982 , initially as a freelancer. In 1984 she got a permanent position in the sports department. From 1998 she moderated biathlon together with Petra Behle on ZDF and formed the only female analysis couple on German television. For the public television broadcaster, she moderated the ZDF sports report as well as Pfiff and the tele-illustrated and commented mainly in the areas of motor sports , tournament dance , figure skating , rhythmic gymnastics and synchronized swimming . From 2006 to May 2014 she was the editor-in-chief of the “ZDF SPORTtoday” division and thus held the first female editorial manager of the ZDF in the main sports department.
