Arnim Basche (born September 9, 1934 in Dresden as Arnim Joachim Basche ) is a German sports journalist and presenter .

Life

Arnim Basche studied four semesters economics but then turned to journalism to. From 1961 he worked as a sports reporter for WDR , in 1963 he joined the team of moderators at ARD - Sportschau . Arnim Basche also worked as a producer for sports programs, for example for Der Weg nach Innsbruck and Der Weg nach Tokio .

Basche had been a freelancer at ZDF since 1971 , for which he also took over the moderation of the current sports studio from 1972 . In 1973 he also became studio manager for sports at ZDF in Düsseldorf. Basche has received several awards for its coverage of major sporting events, including from the National Olympic Committee .

A special focus of Arnim Basche's journalistic work is equestrian sport . From 1968 to 1969 he was press officer for the German Equestrian Association . He also published several specialist books on equestrian sports and also read an audio book version of Monty Roberts ' The Knowledge of Horses in 2001 . Basche provided a parodic variant of his work as a sports reporter and presenter in 1970, when he played alongside his colleague in Tom Toelle's futuristic television satire Das Millionenspiel on a fictional game show in which the candidates had to survive the hunt for three serial killers for one million DM for a week Heribert Faßbender acted as a route reporter.

In 1973, he made the slip of the tongue “Kickenbacher Offers” instead of Offenbacher Kickers in a broadcast by the current sports studio.
