Manuel Hirner (born February 7, 1985 in Zell am See ) is a former Austrian cross-country skier .
Career
Hirner, who started for SK Saalfelden , ran his first World Cup race in Linz in December 2002 and finished 61st in the sprint. At the Junior World Championships in 2003 in Sollefteå he achieved 55th place in the sprint and at the Junior World Championships in 2004 in Stryn, 32nd place in the 30 km mass start race and 20th place over 10 km freestyle. The following year he came at the Junior World Championships in Rovaniemi on 45th place over 10 km freestyle and 30th place in sprint and in skiathlon . He achieved his best placings at the U23 World Championships in February 2008 in Mals with 15th place over 15 km classic and 14th place in the 30 km mass start race. In January 2009 he got his first World Cup points in Rybinsk with 19th place in the sprint. This was also his best individual result in the World Cup. At the Nordic World Championships in Liberec in 2009 he achieved 47th place in the sprint and 46th place over 15 km classic. At the 2009 World Cup final in Falun , he finished 64th. He ran his last World Cup race in December 2011 at the Tour de Ski 2012/13 in Oberhof , which he finished in 92nd place in the prologue race over 3.75 km freestyle.
Hirner won the Austrian championships in 2006 over 15 km and in 2010 over 30 km.
