Eva Vrabcová-Nývltová (born February 6, 1986 in Trutnov ) is a Czech former cross-country skier and today's long-distance runner who has so far participated three times in the Winter Olympics and once in the Summer Olympics.

Skiing career

Vrabcová-Nývltová was at the Junior World Championships 2004 in Norwegian Stryn runner-up with the Czech relay. In addition, she was 25th in the freestyle race over five kilometers and eleventh in the sprint. She ran her first World Cup race in January 2005 in Nové Město , which she finished with 54th place over 10 km freestyle. At the Junior World Championships in 2005 in Rovaniemi , Finland , she was fifth in the sprint, tenth in the pursuit over 2 × 5 kilometers, 20th in the freestyle race over five kilometers. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf in 2005 , she reached 56th place in the 10 km freestyle and 51st place in the 15 km pursuit race. At the Junior World Championships 2006 in Kranj she won silver over 5 km classic and bronze in the 10 km pursuit race. In addition, she reached eighth place in the sprint. At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin , she took 50th place in the sprint and 45th place over 10 km classic. At the 2007 Winter Universiade in Pragelato , Italy , she was tenth in the pursuit race over ten kilometers and twelfth in the freestyle race over 15 kilometers. Her best placement at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2007 in Sapporo was 37th in the 15 km pursuit race and 10 km freestyle. She was also 56th in the sprint. In the 2008/09 season she reached fourth place in the overall standings at the Slavic Cup. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Liberec in 2009 , she finished 56th over 10 km classic and 46th place in the sprint. She got her first World Cup points at the Tour de Ski 2009/10 , which she finished with 22nd place. Her best results at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver were 33rd place in the sprint and 12th place in the relay. She was 39th in the 30km mass start race while she was 50th in the 15km pursuit.

The Tour de Ski 2010/11 concluded Vrabcová-Nývltová from the 19th Place. At the 2011 Winter Universiade in Erzurum , Turkey , she took fifth place in the sprint. Her best results at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo were 29th place in the 30 km mass start race and 12th place in the team sprint. In the pursuit race over 15 kilometers she was 34th and in the sprint she finished 55th. She finished the Tour de Ski 2011/12 and 2012/13 in 18th and 26th place. The 26th place in the 30 km mass start race and the 12th place in the relay were their best placings at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2013 in Val di Fiemme . In addition, she was 14th in the team sprint, 35th in the sprint and 41st over ten kilometers in the free technique. The 2013/14 season was her best season of her career so far. At the Tour de Ski 2013/14 she took eighth place overall. Her best result at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi was fifth in the 30 km mass start race. In the skiathlon she was eleventh, over ten kilometers in classic style 19th and eighth with the Czech cross-country skiing relay. In March 2014 she finished seventh in the 30 km mass start race in Oslo, her best ever World Cup result. She finished the season in 14th place in the overall World Cup ranking and 12th place in the distance ranking. In the 2014/15 season she finished 30th at the Nordic Opening in Lillehammer and sixth at the Tour de Ski 2015 . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun in 2015 , she came 23rd in the 10 km freestyle, tenth place in the skiathlon and ninth place in the 30 km mass start race. After 2015, she focused entirely on athletics.

Athletics career

She has been participating in running events since 2011 . In 2014 she became Czech champion over 5000 m . The following year she won the Berlin City Night . A second place in the Jever Fun run and a fifth in the Ústí half marathon were followed by victories at Běchovice-Praha and at the RunTour Praha.

In 2016 she was tenth in the Prague Half Marathon and sixth in the Prague Marathon . In the half marathon of the European Athletics Championships in Amsterdam she was eighth, and in the marathon of the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro she came in 26th place. At the European Athletics Championships in 2018 , she won the bronze medal in the marathon.
