Natalja Sergejewna Korosteljowa , née Morilowa , ( Russian: Наталья Сергеевна Коростелёва , née Морилова ; born October 4, 1981 in Perm ) is a Russian cross-country skier .

Career

Natalia Korosteljowa made her international debut in December 2001 at an FIS race in Krasnogorsk . In February 2002 she won her first Continental Cup race over 15 kilometers in Val di Fiemme . Since the beginning of the 2002/03 season, Korosteljowa has been regularly used in the cross-country world cup . In Kiruna she achieved a first good World Cup result in November 2002 as fourth in the relay. In Clusone , a month later, she was ninth in the sprint for the first time a single place in the top ten of the World Cup. The following February, she and Aljona Sidko finished second in the Asiago team sprint . At the following Nordic World Ski Championships in Val di Fiemme, she won the bronze medal in the relay and was ninth in the sprint and 15th over 10 kilometers. Due to a pregnancy, Korosteljowa's sporting endeavors faded into the background and it took her a long time to regain her old form. At the beginning of the 2007/08 season she was second in the team sprint in Düsseldorf . Her only victory in a World Cup race so far was the team sprint in Düsseldorf the following season , her partner was Natalja Matwejewa . At the Tour de Ski 2009/2010 she was second in the prologue and won the second sprint. Korosteljowa, like her brother Nikolai Morilow, qualified for the Russian cross-country skiing team at the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver. She was used in four competitions and won the bronze medal in the team sprint together with Irina Chasowa . She was seventh in the relay, twelfth in the sprint and nineteenth over the 10 km distance. In March 2010 she became Russian champion over 10 km in Syktyvkar . She finished the season in tenth place in the overall World Cup and eighth place in the Sprint World Cup. In the 2010/11 season she came in third place with the relay in Rybinsk . At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo , she finished 32nd in the sprint. At the beginning of the following season she reached the 18th place at the Nordic Opening in Kuusamo . In the further course of the season she came in Düsseldorf together with Natalja Matwejewa on the third place in the team sprint and in Moscow on the second place in the sprint. At the end of the season she achieved 16th place in the Sprint World Cup. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2013 in Val di Fiemme , she finished seventh in the team sprint together with Natalja Matwejewa . In the 2013/14 season she also started in the Eastern Europe Cup, which she finished in first place in the overall standings. In the World Cup she came in eight participations, four times in the points. In the following season, she achieved World Cup points in two of eight World Cup races.

Korosteljowa is married to the former biathlete and today's ski technician Pawel Korosteljow , has one child and lives in Rybinsk . So far ( as of the end of the 2014/15 season ) she has been able to achieve world cup placements in the top ten 53 times, 23 times in singles, 11 times in races, including twice with the relay and four times in the team sprint.
