Juerg Capol

Jürg Capol (born July 2, 1965 in Chur , Switzerland ) is a former Swiss cross-country skier and was FIS racing director from 2003 to 2013. Together with Vegard Ulvang , he devised the Tour de Ski during a sauna session . Since 2012 he has been Nordic Director at FIS Marketing AG in Freienbach.

His first participation in the cross-country skiing world cup was on January 9, 1988 in Kawgolowo , Soviet Union . He finished 13th, which was his best place in his 13 starts in the Cross-Country World Cup. The last start in the World Cup was on January 15, 1994 in Oslo with 49th place.

At the 1987 World Championships in Oberstdorf he finished 30th over 30 km ((Source: »Sport Zürich« No. 19, title: »The good test matter for Andi Grünenfelder«; subtitle: »Statistics«, from February 15, 1988, page 8.) He took part in the Winter Olympics in Lillehammer in 1994. He was 44th in the 50 km classic race and 49th in the 30 km freestyle race (skating).
