Tourist hiking atlas

TOURIST Wanderatlas was a series of publications published in the GDR by VEB Tourist Verlag Berlin / Leipzig since 1978 . After the transformation of the VEB company into Tourist Verlag GmbH, older issues were reissued and three new issues were published until 1991.

These were between 64 and 66-page brochures, which initially appeared with black and white illustrations and later with full color photos. In addition to an overview map, the brochures also contained several hiking maps of the region presented. Numerous hiking areas in the GDR were presented . Between 40,000 and 70,000 copies were printed per edition. The issue price for the first issues in 1978/80 was 4.20 M or 4.60 M, then in 1981/89 4.70 M, and finally 12.80 DM.
