Manfred Oelsner

Manfred Oelsner (born August 11, 1932 in Magdeburg , † 2002 in Wernigerode ) was a German local historian .

life and work

Oelsner was a qualified historian by profession. After he dealt with the Hamburg uprising of 1933 in 1957 , he published on the history of the city of Wernigerode and the surrounding area as well as on tourism from the beginning of the 1960s .

His publication As the unit was forged, published by the district leadership of the SED in Wernigerode . To the unification of KPD and SPD in the district of Wernigerode. Contribution to the history of the district party organization was last published in three editions in 1987.

In 1975 he was awarded the art and culture prize of the city of Wernigerode .
