Giorgio Di Centa (born October 7, 1972 in Tolmezzo , Friuli ) is an Italian cross-country skier .

Life

Di Centa won silver in the 30 km pursuit race at the 2005 World Cup in Oberstdorf . He achieved his greatest successes at the 2006 Winter Olympics . There he won gold in the relay and gold in the 50 km freestyle . The gold medal for the victory over 50 kilometers was presented to him at the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games by his sister Manuela, who is now a member of the IOC .

Giorgio Di Centa is the ten years younger brother of Olympic champion Manuela Di Centa .
