The Sanguèze is a river in France that runs in the Pays de la Loire region . It rises in the municipality of Sèvremoine , initially drains in a north-westerly direction but then swings to south-west to west and flows into the Sèvre Nantaise as a right tributary after 44 kilometers below Le Pallet . A large number of water mills are operated in the course of the strongly meandering river . On its way, the Sanguèze crosses the Maine-et-Loire and Loire-Atlantique departments . The river forms the border of the department over a length of about ten kilometers.
