Tsgabu Gebremaryan Grmay ( Tigrinya and Amharic ጽጋቡ ገብረማርያም ግርማይ ; born August 25, 1991 in Mek'ele ) is an Ethiopian road cyclist.

Athletic career

Tsgabu Grmay was supported by the Center Mondial du Cyclisme of the World Cycling Association UCI in 2010 and 2011 and also took part in various cycling races for this. At the 2010 African Championships, he finished sixth in the individual time trial and thus won the bronze medal in the U23 class. From 2012 Grmay drove for the South African team MTN Qhubeka . At the 2012 African Cup of Nations, he finished second in the time trial and was thus U23 champion. In 2013 Grmay won a mountain finish at the Tour de Taiwan and finished second in the overall standings. He was also the Ethiopian champion in road racing and in the individual time trial. He was able to defend both titles in 2014.

At the beginning of 2015, Grmay switched to the Italian team Lampre-Merida , for which he immediately finished 11th overall in the Tour Down Under . At the African Championships , Grmay won the gold medal in the individual time trial and the bronze medal in the team time trial. In 2017, 2018 and 2019 he became Ethiopian champion in the individual time trial.
