Simon Kessler

Simon Kessler (born March 14, 1976 in Johannesburg ) is a former South African racing cyclist and today's coach.

Simon Kessler started track cycling at the age of twelve . At 17, he moved to France to race, but had to stop his career at the age of 20 due to an injury. However, after an operation three years later, he came back and turned professional . In 1998 he was South African road race champion and in the same year and 1999 runner-up in the individual time trial . In 2000 he was national road champion for the second time and third in the individual time trial, and in 2001 he was runner-up in road racing. He was also the 2001 African time trial champion. He won the South African road races Knysna Tour (2002), Wilro 100 and Acer Midrand Winter Challenge (2003). In total, he won 15 national titles in various disciplines.

Personal and professional

Simon Kessler's mother comes from Germany, his father from France. Today he lives with his family in Tampa (USA) and works as a trainer.
