Stefan de Bod (born November 17, 1996 in Stellenbosch ) is a South African racing cyclist .
Athletic career
In 2014 Stefan de Bod was the South African junior road racing champion. In 2015 he was also successful on the track : with Morne Van Niekerk , Hendrik B. Kruger and Kellan Gouveris he was African champion in the team pursuit and took bronze in the single pursuit . In the same year he won the South African race for everyone, the 947 Cycle Challenge .
From 2016 to 2018, de Bod won the national title of U23 time trial champion three times in a row , in 2016 and 2017 he was also U23 road champion. In 2016 he received a contract with the Continental Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka and in the same year came eleventh in the U23 individual time trial at the road world championships . He moved to Europe and from then on competed in other races. At the African Championships , he won silver in the individual time trial. In June 2017, he fell at the Baby Giro and had to take a three-month break.
From 2019 Stefan de Bod got a contract with Team Dimension Data . In March of that year he became the African time trial champion . In the following season he moved to the NTT team and became South African time trial runner-up.
