Ryan Cox
Ryan Cox (born April 9, 1979 in Kempton Park , Gauteng , † August 1, 2007 ) was a South African racing cyclist .
Ryan Cox began his career in 2000 with the Amore e Vita cycling team . After a year he switched to Team Cologne , for which he drove for two years. Since 2003, Cox has been driving for the British Professional Continental Team Barloworld . He had his most successful year in 2005. First he won the overall classification of the Tour de Langkawi , and later he was the South African road champion. In the final overall ranking of the UCI Africa and Asia Tour he came in second.
On August 1, 2007, Cox died of blood loss caused by a ruptured artery in his left leg. Just three weeks earlier, he had had an operation on this artery.
