Tour of Alberta

The Tour of Alberta was a Canadian bike tour through the province of Alberta . It was part of the UCI America Tour and had category 2.1. This made it the most important stage race in Canada. The first edition of the race took place from 3rd to 8th September 2013. On February 15, 2018, it was announced by the Alberta Peloton Association that the cycling tour would be suspended due to financial reasons.

Ratings

The Tour of Alberta has six different ratings. The respective leader in the ratings wears a corresponding jersey. These are based on the design of the jerseys used in the Tour de France .

  • Jersey yellow.svg Yellow jersey: leader in the overall standings
  • Jersey green.svgGreen jersey: leader in the points classification
  • Jersey polkadot.svgDotted jersey: leader in the mountain classification
  • Jersey white.svg White jersey: Best young professional (Best driver under 25 in the overall standings)
  • Jersey red.svg Red jersey: Best Canadian overall
