UCI ProTour 2008

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The UCI ProTour was a series of important stage wins and one-day races of road cycling . The ProTour, held annually by the UCI World Cycling Federation , took place for the fourth time in 2008.

However, the three major country tours Tour de France , Giro d'Italia and Vuelta a España were removed from the ProTour calendar following disagreements between the UCI and the organizers, as well as other prestigious one-day races. The program was presented on September 27, 2007 as part of the 2007 road cycling world championships in Stuttgart. Initial plans for a race to the series finale have been dropped.
