Rinaldo Nocentini
Rinaldo Nocentini (born September 25, 1977 in Montevarchi ) is a former Italian cyclist .
Career
Nocentini won the silver medal in the U23 road race at the 1998 UCI Road World Championships . Then he got a professional contract with Mapei in 1999 . Right at the beginning of the season he won two stages in the Tour de Langkawi . He celebrated his next successes in the one-day races Giro di Toscana and Subida al Naranco . He also won a stage of the Tour of Poland in 2004 . From 2004 to 2006 Nocentini drove for the Professional Continental Team Acqua e Sapone .
In 2007 he was then hired by the ProTeam Ag2r La Mondiale to reinforce the classics. On the 7th stage of the Tour de France 2009 he was able to secure the yellow jersey in fourth place , which he only had to give up on the 15th stage. He won the Mediterranean Tour in 2010 after the original winner Alejandro Valverde was stripped of his victory after a positive doping test and subsequent doping ban.
For the 2016 season, he moved to the Portuguese second division Clube de Ciclismo de Tavira , where he ended his active career at the end of the 2019 season at the age of 42.
