Gran Premio Miguel Induráin

The Gran Premio Miguel Induráin ( GP Miguel Induráin for short , German Grand Prix Miguel Induráin ) is a Spanish cycling race .

The one-day race has been held annually at the beginning of April in the autonomous region of Navarre since 1951 . However, the race has only been called Gran Premio Miguel Induráin since 1999, named after the five-time Tour de France winner Miguel Induráin , who comes from Navarra. Previously, the race was called Trofeo Comunidad Foral de Navarra , Estella-Gran Premio Navarra or Campeonato Vasco Navarro de Montaña and was won by its later namesake in 1987. The only Germans who have won the race so far are Matthias Kessler and Fabian Wegmann. The Gran Premio Miguel Induráin has been part of the UCI Europe Tour since 2005 and is classified in the 1st HC category.
