UCI World Calendar 2009
The UCI World Calendar and the associated World Ranking replaced the UCI ProTour in the 2009 season . This still existed formally, but no points were awarded or rankings published. In addition to the 14 ProTour races, the 2009 World Calendar included 10 more such as B. the Tour de France , the Giro d'Italia or the Vuelta a España . These races were identified by their own category (HIS - Historic Races). Participants were the 18 UCI ProTeams and, if invited by an organizer, the 21 Professional Continental Teams .
