The 67th Paris – Nice cycle race took place from March 8th to 15th, 2009. It was held in eight stages over a distance of 1,252.8 kilometers. Last year's winner Davide Rebellin could not repeat his success because his team Serramenti PVC Diquigiovanni-Androni Giocattoli was not invited to the race.

At the start were the 18 UCI ProTeams with the exception of Fuji-Servetto , who did not receive an invitation, as well as the three Professional Continental Teams Agritubel , Cervélo TestTeam and Skil-Shimano .
